FRANKLIN — A Franklin man is facing charges after an incident in that town that began Sunday night.
Lt. Roderick Charette of the Maine State Police said troopers responded to 6 West Franklin Road in Franklin for a complaint about a person threatening with a firearm.
Charette said 43-year-old Justin Gibson told the troopers his neighbor, 34-year-old Christopher Cunningham, had challenged him to a fight.
Gibson said Cunningham had allegedly displayed a pistol and fired a shot during the altercation before returning to his home.
According to Charette, when troopers arrived Cunningham refused to answer the phone or communicate with them.
Cunningham was eventually arrested at 4:30 a.m. Monday.
He is charged with criminal threatening with a firearm and reckless conduct.
