DOVER-FOXCROFT — A man was sentenced in Piscataquis County Superior Court Monday for swindling money from homeowners.
Assistant District Attorney Chris Almy said Stephen Lancaster was sentenced to five years in jail, all suspended, and three years of probation for theft.
He was also ordered to pay more than $27,000 in restitution and not work in home construction anymore.
Almy said for nearly two years, Lancaster scammed homeowners through home repair jobs.
That began in January of 2019.
Lancaster was also sentenced to two years of jail, all suspended, and probation for two years on a negotiating a worthless instrument charge.
