BANGOR – The first Step Forward Awareness Day was held at the Cole Transportation Museum Saturday in Bangor.
The barbecue and day of family fun was hosted by the Courageous Steps Project that supports programs for kids and young adults with developmental challenges.
Not only did the event raise awareness, but it gave all kids a chance to get outside.
“There are so many ways to give back, you have several different opportunities whether it’s from volunteering, donating your time or money,” said Connor Archer, the founder and executive director of the Courageous Steps Project.
Along with outdoor activities, the Cole Transportation Museum was also giving free tours.
Next month’s Step Forward Awareness Day will give kids with developmental challenges a chance to tour the DEW Haven Zoo and Rescue.
