Fire marshals charge 3 with arson

AUGUSTA — Three people are facing charges in connection with fires in three different counties.

Fire marshals arrested 50-year-old Mark Walston on Jan. 13.

He is charged with arson, burglary and theft in connection with a camp fire on Ledge Drive in Long Pond Township the previous day.

Walston is being held at Somerset County Jail.

Melissa Keller, 36, of Montville was arrested on Jan. 12 in connection with a residential fire on Hunter Road in Unity in 2018.

She is facing numerous charges including arson, perjury and forgery.

Fire marshals also arrested 59-year-old Douglas Knowlton of Troy on Jan. 11.

He is charged with arson and attempted theft by deception in connection with a vehicle fire that occurred on Route 9 in Troy in March of 2020.
