BANGOR — An altercation in Bangor has left two people injured and one person facing charges.
Bangor police Detective Lt. Brent Beaulieu said officers were called to 179 Corporate Drive on Sunday for a report of a female with a significant head injury.
He said when they arrived, the woman told officers a man hit her in the head with a baseball bat.
On Wednesday they charged 37-year-old Jessica Higgins of Bangor with aggravated assault and criminal threatening.
Beaulieu said when officers interviewed the 18-year-old man from Chesterville who was involved in the incident, they noticed he had cuts on his hands.
According to Beaulieu, their investigation revealed Higgins confronted the man with a knife taped to one hand and a bat in the other.
Beaulieu said Higgins lost control of the bat and the man used it to defend himself against the knife assault.
Higgins is scheduled to make her first court appearance in September.
