BANGOR – Each year, Eastern Maine Community College hosts a dinner to raise money for scholarships. This year’s dinner will be held on Nov. 14.
EMCC Director of Advancement Jennifer Khavari said the event is an opportunity to celebrate donors, students, faculty and staff.
Khavari said that this year, the EMCC Foundation has awarded $130,000 in scholarships to students.
“We’ll have students speak that night about whether or not they were choosing to pay a telephone bill, electric bill, heating for their family or to stay in school. If we can help to reduce some of those financial barriers, even with a small scholarship, then I think we’re all helping with student success,” Khavari said.
Tickets can be purchased on EMCC’s website.
