ELLSWORTH – The Ellsworth Police Department ditched razors and shaving cream this month for its annual No Shave November fundraiser.
This year, all the funds raised will be donated to Ellsworth Fire Captain Bobby Dorr, who is battling cancer.
“Each officer pays five dollars a week to not shave and then that money, in addition to funds that those individual officers raise through the community, friends and family, will be turned over to that individual,” said Ellsworth Police Chief Glenn Moshier.
Moshier says the police department raised more than $2,000 for Captain Dorr and has set a new goal to raise $10,000.
