HOULTON – Two people are facing a number of charges after allegedly leading police on multiple chases in stolen vehicles this week in The County.
Police say Britteny Finley and Brandon Lane are currently being held at the Aroostook County Jail.
The two are charged in connection with three vehicle chases, beginning with one Monday that started in Madawaska Lake that ended in a crash near St. Peter Road in Cross Lake.
Police say Lane was located Monday night, but Finley escaped.
Then on Tuesday, police say Lane was spotted in a stolen vehicle on Route One in Littleton.
Police say he led authorities on a high-speed chase that ended with a crash on Gentle Road, and Lane being placed in handcuffs.
Then on Wednesday, police were following up on a report of a stolen Buick out of Littleton.
Police located the vehicle in Mars Hill with Finley behind the wheel.
Another chase ensued, and eventually ended just south of Presque Isle when police put out spike strips to stop the car.
Lane and Finley are charged with burglary, theft, driving to endanger and eluding, and state police say more charges will be brought once the investigation is complete.
