BANGOR — The holiday season came to an end Wednesday morning in downtown Bangor.
City workers removed the Christmas tree from West Market Square.
According to John Cyr, electrical supervisor for the Bangor Department of Public Works, the Christmas tree was kept up longer than usual to spread hope and joy in the community.
“We are trying to keep up with people, COVID-19, and what’s going on with all of the changes in the world right now. We tried to keep it around and it seems to be working,” Cyr said.
Cyr said the tree was taken down branch by branch with a wooden chopper.
