BANGOR — Wednesday, March 8 is International Women’s Day, and the month of March marks International Women’s Month.
According to Sarah Dyer, the diversity, equity and inclusion officer at Husson University, this is a time to recognize women who have created opportunities, such as voting and workplace rights.
She said this is also an opportunity to see where progress is still needed.
“Where are the gaps? Where are women not being represented? Where are women not having equal protection under the law?” Dyer asked.
Dyer said she believes one issue that should be looked at is parental time off when having a baby.
She said policies that we create have an impact on all people, and she hopes to see more gender equality in the future.
