BANGOR — Starting next Tuesday, the Cross Insurance Center will become the regional COVID-19 vaccination site.
Northern Light Health officials released a statement Wednesday afternoon announcing the establishment of the Cross Center as the site.
According to the statement, the plan calls for 900 vaccinations to be administered Tuesday, Feb. 2, and another 900 people will be vaccinated Thursday, Feb. 4.
The statement said Northern Light started vaccinating people over 70 years old at smaller sites throughout the region on January 23.
The vice president of the pharmacy said the Cross Center will be well-positioned to assist in the statewide vaccination effort.
“‘We’re just delighted to be in this phase of the pandemic, offering vaccines at a much larger scale than we have been able to previously. This is going to be the largest facility that we’ve stood up to date,” said Northern Light Health Vice President Tim Doak.
The Northern Light statement said anyone over the age of 70 can register online or call the hotline at (207) 204-8551.
