STATEWIDE – Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah announced the state is expanding the list of locations where COVID-19 vaccines will be offered in the state.
During Tuesday’s CDC briefing, Shah said vaccines will be distributed at more than 40 Walgreens locations across Maine.
According to Shah, registration could be available as soon as Tuesday night with first doses being administered Wednesday.
He also said there are vaccination appointments available at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, specifically this Thursday and Saturday.
“All of these sites are essential to helping us reach our vaccination targets,” Shah said. “This is no easy task to pull something like this off, a site that can easily vaccinate anywhere from one to 2,000 people per day.”
Shah said Mainers 70 and older are eligible for appointments at the Cross Issuance Center regardless of whether they’re patients of Northern Light Health.
