Controversial physician’s assistant resigns

BAR HARBOR — Back in October, a Facebook post of a medical practitioner not wearing a mask at a presidential rally ruffled some feathers.

Michelle Kaplan, who was an emergency room physician’s assistant at Mount Desert Island Hospital, had a picture taken at the rally with Republican Dale Crafts and other officials posted it to her Facebook page..

People in the community spread the outrage of a medical practitioner not following CDC protocols and many complaints were sent to the hospital.

According to the hospital, Kaplan resigned her employment back on Friday, Nov. 13.
