BAR HARBOR — Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor hosted a visit Saturday from Congress members as part of the American Congressional Exchange Program.
Democratic Congress Rep. Jared Golden from Maine’s 2nd District, welcomed Rep. Van Taylor, a Republican from Texas, to tour the Jackson lab facility.
Congress members who participate in the “ACE” program will, for one weekend, host a member of the opposite political party to their home state.
According to a press release from public relations director, Dan Cashman, that member reciprocates the following year.
Cashman said the purpose of the program is to have members of Congress work together and build better relationships.
