WASHINGTON, D.C. — Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins would like to see the president’s infrastructure construction plan cut in half.
Collins said she would like to see the nearly $2 trillion American Jobs Plan address critical transportation projects.
“By that, I mean roads and bridges and airports and seaports and water treatment plants and broadband. That is really important. We’ve learned about the problems with the lack of high-speed internet access during this pandemic,” she said.
Collins said President Joe Biden needs to trim some money from his proposed American Jobs Plan. She said Democrats and Republicans should be able to find a middle ground that benefits the nation.
