ELLSWORTH — A candy store in Ellsworth just got a whole new upgrade.
The candy store features retro candy, soda, and sugar daddy pops. Owner Sarah and Jesse Bowden of their previous small candy lot “Sugar Mags” went through an adventurous season during the pandemic to stay afloat.
They took online orders and let folks pick up their candy from their home. Now the Bowden family has leased a whole new space for Sugar Mags Central on Main Street.
Their daughter Marguerite Bowden is excited about the new venture.
“We have a pinball arcade, well it’s not like an arcade but we have a couple pin ball machines and two Mrs. Pac Man’s and a Galaga machine,” said Marguerite Bowden, daughter of Sarah Bowden.
“Making sure that our kids and our family had a safe place to be was definitely a catalyst for wanting to build a bigger location,” said Sarah Bowden, owner of Sugar Mags Central.
The Bowden family had their previous store in Ellsworth for four years and with a larger space, but now with a new space they want kids to join the fun and enjoy the addition play place.
