BREWER — Votes for a resident who decided about two weeks ago that he wanted to be a write-in candidate for the school board will not be counted.
Brewer City Clerk Vincent Migliore said Monday the problem is Matt Damon did not file the state paperwork required to qualify as a candidate.
“Had he filed in accordance with the 60-day deadline he would have been an acceptable write-in candidate,” Migliore said. “However, not having done so he is disqualified as a candidate.”
The Brewer clerk said any votes for Damon cast by Brewer residents who already voted absentee will not be counted.
