CORINTH – A serious crash in Corinth Wednesday afternoon shut down part of Route 15.
Maine State Trooper Brian Bean said he responded to the call of a single vehicle accident near the Countryside Restaurant around 1:30.
Upon arrival, troopers discovered a car had crossed the center line, and struck a tree on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
Bean says the Jaws of Life had to be used to remove the driver, due to the severity of the damage.
The driver, an older gentleman, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, had to be flown by Life Flight helicopter to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, with what the Bean says appears to be life-threatening injuries.
No further information, including the driver’s name, has been released at this time.
