AUGUSTA — A bill being considered by state lawmakers seeks to increase the number of charging stations for electric cars across the state.
Rep. Nicole Grohoski’s bill aims to increase electric car use.
Advocates of the bill had a chance to be heard in front of members of the Maine Legislature’s Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Committee.
“Versant power wants to reinforce that we share her goal of encouraging rapid adoption of electric vehicles in a way that can advance Maine’s climate objectives,” said Versant Power spokesman James Cote.
The proposal could make its way to the full legislature within the next few weeks.
