BLUE HILL — Tis the season of giving. Home Instead Senior Care in Blue Hill is once again hosting its “Be a Santa to a Senior” program for the sixth year in a row.
Nursing homes have been hit hard this year. The owner of the Blue Hill Home Instead said their goal is to spread some cheer now.
“Isolation for seniors at holidays can be a very sad and critical thing in normal times. A lot of these people haven’t seen their family in a long time,” said Cheryl Sheasby, the Home Instead franchise owner.
“We’re hoping this will just add this little bit of cheer, a gift. A pair of slippers, some cheese and crackers. Lift their spirits some,” she said.
Sheasby said Tradewinds in Blue Hill put a donation tree in their store. People can pick up ornaments with the name and wish list of a local senior starting Friday.
Gifts can then be dropped back off at the Tradewinds location. Sheasby said they’ll be delivered next week, in time of the holidays.
You can visit their website to make a money donation that will be used to purchase gifts.
