BREWER — Members of the Bangor Area Recovery Network remembered those who lost their battles with addiction during Black Balloon Day.
For the event, people gathered at the BARN to paint rocks for the network’s memorial garden.
On some of the rocks, they wrote the names of people who died due to drug or alcohol addiction
“It’s a way to carry on their legacy, to just have some fond memories, hear some laughs, and to bring some more peace surrounding their passing,” said Sam Ahearn, community outreach specialist from the BARN.
She added coming up the BARN will host a candlelight vigil once the weather begins to warm up.
