BANGOR — The coronavirus has changed Small Business Saturday in the area, and it means four weekends of expanded hours and sales at many downtown businesses.
Bangor’s downtown business coordinator said this year it is more important than ever to remember small businesses.
“They really need the holiday season so that they can remain stable during the early part of next year when business is slower,” said Betsy Lundy, downtown business coordinator. “So the holiday season for small businesses is really the make it or break it point of the year.”
Small Business Saturday in Bangor will be held Nov. 28 and the first three Saturdays in December.
Shops are offering discounts of 10 to 25 percent or higher, and many will gift-wrap items at no charge. Several are offering curbside pick-up or expanded hours.
