BANGOR — The Bangor Police Department has responded to 2 bomb threats in virtually the same locations, just ten days apart.
The first threat on April 7 was in the Walmart parking lot, while yesterday’s was in the parking lot right next to it, in front of the Five Guys restaurant.
Sgt. Wade Betters, Bangor police’s spokesman, said he is a little concerned since police officials are not sure if the bag or the pressure cooker from two weeks ago, were left on purpose or accident.
“Luckily, both of these instances have turned out to be not an explosive device or anything hazardous to the public. Again it could be just carelessness, it could be maliciousness. Obviously, we have to use caution when we come to these types of scenes. We don’t want to be wrong. This was definitely out of the ordinary, so that’s why we needed to come,” Betters said.
He added that if people are going to dispose of things publicly, throwing them away in trash cans properly and don’t leave them out in the open.
