BANGOR — The Bangor Humane Society is offering discounted adoption fees Oct. 25 through Oct. 30.
Bangor Humane Society Director of Development Kathryn Ravenscraft said this is for any pet that is immediately available to go to its new home.
She said they’ve partnered with the ASPCA and Subaru for several years for this event, and the two organizations have provided funds toward animals’ clinical expenses.
Ravenscraft said dogs, cats, bunnies and guinea pigs are all up for adoption.
“We never want the cost of an adoption to be a stumbling block for an individual or a family,” Ravenscraft said. “That data shows that having pets is good for us. It’s stress relief. It’s entertainment. It just boosts that oxytocin, that feel good stuff.”
Ravenscraft said the week long event will end with a day of fun that includes trick or treat bags for pets, pet portrait sessions and goodies for humans too.
