BANGOR – One little girl’s dreams came true Friday with the help of the Bangor Fire Department.
Abigale Fisher, 8, of Fruit Street School in Bangor got the coolest ride to school Friday morning.
She recently won the Fire Prevention Week poster contest with her drawing of her escaping a fire.
When she came in first place, she got rewarded with a ride in the Bangor Fire Department’s Engine #5.
“It’s an amazing thing to see my daughter riding a fire truck for something she earned,” said Ben Fisher, Abigale’s father. “She worked really hard and she earned it. So that’s amazing.”
Abigale and her family are new to the area and they say the contest makes them feel very included within the community.
“I love my daughter and I’m really proud of her and you know what, she had a lot of faith and she prayed and God came through for her.”
Her winning artwork will also be displayed on the fire prevention van, right on the hood, for an entire year.
