BANGOR – The Bangor Farmers Market has moved indoors for the winter, and Sunday was the first day they got to use their new space.
On the first and third Sundays of the month from now to April, the market is indoors (instead of outside, across from the library as they are in warmer months). Their new location is 50 Cleveland Street in Bangor.
Previously, the winter market has been at Sea Dog’s banquet room, but with that space being renovated right now, it was time for a change.
“We asked our liaison at the city and they bent over backwards to help us find a space…it’s great, it’s very spacious, it’s easy access, it’s great for loading and plenty of parking, so we’re very excited about our new winter home,” said Clayton Carter, the chairman of Bangor Farmers Market Association.
Carter said in the colder months, you can buy storage crops like cabbage and potatoes, but they also have fresh eggs, meats, and baked goods for sale.
Their hours are 11-1, and vendors do accept SNAP and EBT.
