BANGOR – – A Bangor woman goes hiking all over the world and uses the trash found on trails as her canvas to create artwork.
From crushed coffee cups, water bottles, shoes, and more, Mariah Reading is on a journey to make a positive impact towards conservation efforts.
Reading said the discarded items are a reflection of the landscape where they’re found.
“I usually hike with a backpack with all of my painting stuff in it. So if I happen to pass upon a piece of trash on a trail and if I have the time and the element looks favorable, then I can just plop down and paint right then and there,” said Reading.
Reading said her goal is to raise awareness on climate change.
