BANGOR — A judge Friday afternoon set bail at $10,000 for a Bangor man who’s been charged with assaulting a 2-year-old child.
Tevis Williams appeared in court via Zoom after being arrested Wednesday night on charges of elevated aggravated assault, domestic violence assault, and assault on a child less than 6 years old.
During the bail hearing, the prosecutor said 26-year-old Williams told police he never strangled the victim and said he was only trying to tuck the child into bed.
Williams is the boyfriend of the victim’s mother.
Police were alerted to the child’s injuries when the child was taken to a local doctor for treatment.
