BANGOR — A federal judge is expected to decide Thursday whether an accused drug dealer should be released on bail.
During a court proceeding Monday afternoon, U.S. District Court Judge John Nivison said he would hear arguments from both sides regarding whether 65-year-old Brenda Shaboski should be released or kept in jail until her trial.
The Bangor woman was arrested by federal agents last Wednesday and charged with operating a drug-involved house and selling fentanyl.
The judge appointed Bangor attorney Jon Haddow to represent Shaboski.
However, after Shaboski told the judge she was supposed to be receiving $8,000 a month from an inheritance, Nivison said Haddow’s appointment could be changed if Shaboski does have access to that amount of money.
Shaboski remains at Somerset County Jail pending the outcome of Thursday’s bail hearing.
