BANGOR — All Saints Catholic School students brought some joy to nurses and doctors Monday at St. Joseph Hospital.
The third and fourth graders from the Bangor school made posters to show they appreciate the workers during the pandemic.
Principal Matthew Houghton said the workers who sometimes go unnoticed in a hospital were recognized in this project.
“I chose housekeeping because when people think of a hospital they don’t think of housekeeping. They really just think of doctors and nurses,” said Hunter Gerkins.
Houghton said the students will continue to deliver good deeds during Catholic School Week.
Catholic Schools Week is set to last till Feb. 6.
The purpose of the week is to nourish students’ faith while also encouraging academic excellence. Houghton said it’s important for the students to understand the meaning of service in “our community” and service.
