KENNEBEC COUNTY – An Albion man was indicted on a number of charges in connection with a 2019 crash that left his passenger seriously injured.
The Kennebec County Grand Jury indicted 29-year-old Brandyn Engler last Thursday.
Police say he got into an accident on Waterville Road, also known as Route 137, in China on August 23, 2019.
That crash left his passenger, Justin Hardesty, seriously injured.
Kennebec County District Attorney Maeghan Maloney says Engler was arrested in October.
He’s been charged with driving to endanger, aggravated criminal OUI and criminal speed, among other charges.
Maloney said he was taken to the Kennebec County Jail, and his bail was set at $2,000 cash with a Maine pretrial contract.
According to the jail’s list of current inmates on its website, Engler is still behind bars.
