BANGOR – Already approved by the school committee and city council, the 43-million dollar budget would include a one percent tax increase for residents.
Superintendent Betsy Webb says that could go away if the legislature approves an increase in state school spending as was recommended by the legislature. She encourages people to head to the polls. “It’s so important that we have a representation of what the community wants. Certainly they can call my office, there’s details on the website, but this is our american right, to vote, and to give our opinion so i hope people do that.”
Polls will be opened at 7 and will stay open until 8 pm at the Cross Insurance Center.
The Brewer school system will also vote on their budget today at the Brewer auditorium.
