STATEWIDE – AAA released a study that shows more than eighty percent of vehicles fail to properly light roadways.
That’s partially due to old halogen lights still being used in most American cars and trucks. The primary issue is that many people do not adequately clean the lights glass coverings.
Triple a spokesperson Christopher Hill says, there a few things you can do. “My recommendation would not be to go out and purchase expensive bulbs that might be not what you are looking for but to check the owner’s manual and the manufacturer’s recommendations. And again, make sure you are maintaining your vehicle, that the covers are clean and that the lights are pointing in the right direction.”
Vehicle visibility is supposed to reach five hundred feet, most only hit four hundred. Another thing to consider with headlights, is the glare emitted by your vehicle and oncoming drivers. Be mindful and avoid looking directly at headlights traveling in your direction.
