READFIELD – A 19 year old man is accused of posing as a police officer while confronting people at a school last night in Readfield.
Caleb Jackson of Wayne is charged with impersonating a public servant, possessing a gun on school property and carrying a concealed weapon.
State police say Jackson went to Maranacook high school and told the school’s lacrosse coach he wanted to speak to the team about allegations of sexting.
He claimed to be a federal officer and was carrying a gun and badge.
After making accusations against team members the coach decided to call police because he didn’t want the students questioned without representation.
State police quickly realized Jackson wasn’t an officer and placed him under arrest.
They say he was once a standout basketball player at Maranacook and graduated last year.
