A Bangor murder trial is nearing an end.
Both sides rested today in the trial of Christopher Saenz of Ellsworth.
Prosecutors say he murdered his wife Hillary on Christmas day in 2013.
They say she had been beaten, but the defense claims she passed away following a seizure.
In court today, the judge was played a recording of a police interview which followed an incident at the Saenz home in which Saenz allegedly threatened to hurt his wife two weeks before her murder.
Saenz said he thought his wife was having an affair, but the altercation was verbal and not physical.
A man also testified that he had been selling Christopher Saenz heroin in the weeks leading up to the murder.
The defense rested today without calling a witness to the stand including Saenz who decided not to testify in his own defense.
Both sides are expected to deliver closing arguments Thursday morning and then it will be up to a judge to decide his guilt or innocence in the non-jury trial.
