BANGOR – The murder trial of a man accused of killing his wife on Christmas Day 2013 is set to resume Tuesday Morning.
Christopher Saenz is charged with murdering his wife, Hilary Saenz two years ago. The state medical examiner ruling that the mother of two died as a result of blunt force trauma to her head. How she received that trauma is where the case hinges.
The prosecution says that Saenz beat his wife, but the defense claims Hilary Saenz had an undiagnosed seizure disorder as a result of a 2003 car crash. They say a seizure that day is what killed her.
Today, the prosecution will continue to present its case. Investigators who collected evidence and crime lab employees are expected to testify.
The jury waived trial is expected to conclude late next week, with a written verdict by this summer.
