SURRY – A man from Surry is on trial for manslaughter.
Authorities say 23 year old Steven Moon was intoxicated when he crashed a vehicle in 2011. A crash that killed 27 year old Caleb Foster of Stonington.
Police say Moon had three passengers when he rolled the vehicle. Two of the other passengers were also thrown from the car and were injured.
The defense claims Moon wasn’t the driver at all, but police say they have evidence that will prove Moon was behind the wheel.
Moon is also charged with aggravated criminal operating under the influence and operating a vehicle after suspension.
The trial in Ellsworth is expected to last three days.
