Burlington – Dry conditions and strong winds fuel a forest fire in Burlington.
Officials believe that the fire started in a barn that quickly spread to other structures in the area, then to 15-20 acres of woods near the property.
Maine Forest Ranger Jeff Currier described the scene as a “war zone” when he first arrived on scene. The combined efforts of local emergency responders along with a strong plan and precision water drops from helicopters are credited with containing the fire. It’s expected that crews will be on scene for the next 2 or 3 days trying to make sure no other issues arise.
