Ellsworth – Early Friday evening a jury of his peers found William Morse guilty of murdering Richard Bellittieri in 2012.
After a week and a half of testimony both the State and the Prosecution coming to rest Friday afternoon, the jury needed only an hour and a half to reach their guilty verdict.
Morse shot and killed 61 year-old Richard Bellittieri and buried him under a mound of potting soil and trees on Bellittieri’s property in Trenton. His body was found in June of 2013, Morse arrested and charged shortly thereafter.
Morse also assumed his identity stealing nearly $200 thousand dollars. The State saying his carelessness with receipts from that time was among the key pieces of evidence leading to his demise.
