BANGOR – The Meals From Maine food packing event is coming right up.
The third annual event and community food drive will be held at the former Circuit City building on Stillwater Avenue. Taking place Saturday April 25th, at 10am, the goal is to pack more than 100,000 meals to be shipped to starving children in disaster and poverty stricken areas all over the globe.
“We see the ads on TV and we want to help with the Ebola epidemic and the devastation that has caused I sit there in the living room and I don’t know what to do, well I can actually pack the food that’s being sent there and I can make a difference. Anyone can make a difference. By helping to pack.” Beverly Kostusyk, Meals From Maine
Along with packing, the community food drive will collect non-perishable food items for Manna Ministries. There is also a need for volunteers. For more information visit mealsfrommaine.org.
