MOUNT DESERT ISLAND – It will cost more for people to visit Acadia National Park this year. It’s part of a system wide effort to help pay for maintenance and other costs at national parks throughout the country.
The cost for a seven day pass will go up to $25 dollars per vehicle. It will be $20 dollars for motorcycles.
The cost for people who enter on bicycle or on foot will increase from $5 to$12 dollars and the price for an annual pass will go up ten dollars to $50 dollars for the entire season.
Camping fees will also increase to a range of $22 dollars for walk-in campers, up to $40 dollars a night for people who arrive in a recreational vehicle that requires water and electric hookups.
