BANGOR – Hammond Street Senior Center’s annual Spring Pottery Luncheon provides the community with both an opportunity to celebrate the work of local artists who are “aging creatively” and to support the wide range of activities available to residents of the Greater Bangor Area age 55 and older.
On sale now through April 8th, more than one hundred pottery bowls handmade by Senior Center members are on exhibit at 2 Hammond Street, Downtown Bangor. The public is invited to view and purchase the bowls anytime, then join us to enjoy a special luncheon served on Wednesday, April 8th at 11:30 a.m. The price of the bowl includes lunch this day which will feature bowl-friendly dishes donated by popular local eateries including Giacomo’s, Paddy Murphy’s, Oriental Jade, Kostas, Bagel Central, Angler’s, Antique Marketplace, Chase’s Family Restaurant, Hollywood Casino, Jeff’s Catering and more.
Those interested should stop by early for the best selection. While the exhibit showcases the skills members have gained through taking classes at the Senior Center, the sale of the bowls, which the members have volunteered their time and talents for months to make, raises funds for the program for expenses such as stocking the studio and maintaining kilns. These beautiful bowls range in price from $28-$32.
