BANGOR – Ross Manor was investigated for inflating medicare claims for rehabilitation therapy.
That therapy reportedly was provided by Rehabcare Group East Incorporated which contracted with the nursing facility.
The government alleges that Ross Manor failed to take steps to prevent Rehabcare from providing unnecessary rehabilitation therapy. It resulted in Ross Manor billing its medicare patients at the highest reimbursement level for care the government says was not necessary.
It is the latest in a series of resolutions involving medicare billing fore rehabilitation therapy at skilled nursing facilities. The investigation into Ross Manor was conducted by the Maine Department of Human Services and the FBI.
