BANGOR – To raise awareness and support for adult literacy in our community, Literacy Volunteers of Bangor is hosting the 3rd Annual Literacy Tea on Sunday, March 29th from 3 – 5:00 p.m. at John Bapst Memorial High School.
Popular Maine children’s author Lynn Plourde will read The Dump Man’s Treasures about a man who values books but can’t read them. Community members will design and host 34 different tables displaying themes from various children’s books. A photo booth will capture memories. And of course, tea, refreshments and sweets will be served.
This event is Literacy Volunteers of Bangor’s major public fundraiser. Literacy Volunteers receives only private support and raises its budget annually so that it can help more than 300 adults annually reach their education goals through improved literacy.
We hope you can join us to cover this unique event.
