Bangor – Unwrapping our Christmas gifts.
Ask any youngster and they’ll tell you it’s the best, ask any parent and they’ll likely say it’s fun, but there’s a lot of clean up afterward.
That’s where the workers at Casella Waste come in.
After being closed for Christmas waste collectors get back at it on Friday, embarking on one of the busiest stretches of their year.
Operations Manager Chris McHale tells us that on an average day his crew will pick up around 900 trash barrels on a given day in Bangor. In the days that follow the holiday and people have collected all that trash that number jumps up to around 1500 barrels.
If you are wondering about getting rid of your Christmas tree sometime after the big day, you can drop it off at Bangor Public works 7 days a week. They will begin curbside pick up in the new year.
