Bowdoin College is stepping up to ensure the son of a slain New York City police officer can continue his education.
Justin Ramos is a freshman at the college and also is the son of 40-year-old Rafael Ramos.
Rafael Ramos is one of two New York City police officers who were killed inside their patrol car on Saturday.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Bowdoin President Barry Mills said he had notified the Ramos family that the college would pick up the tab for the rest of Justin’s tuition.
The two officers were killed by a man investigators say was bent on retalation for the slayings of black men by white police officers.
