STATEWIDE – Maine’s own Gifford’s Famous Ice Cream is now the official ice cream of the New England Patriots.
The fifth-generation family-owned company announced that it finalized the multi-year sponsorship Friday.
Gifford’s is already working on a new flavor to honor the Patriots and their fans. The company said it will be unveiled during the upcoming football season.
Gifford’s Famous Ice Cream is no stranger to the big leagues as the company became the official ice cream for the Boston Bruins in 2016 with the flavor Power Play Fudge — now one of the company’s top three selling flavors.
According to a news release, the new Patriots ice cream will be sold at Gillette Stadium, in area grocery stores and independent ice cream stands throughout New England, as well as the five family-owned Gifford’s ice cream stands in Maine.
