BANGOR – With places like the beach, a pool, or a golf course, there are many ways to spend a sunny summer day and have some fun in the sun.
One place to splash away the day is Jenkins Beach.
“It’s a great place to swim, to lay on the beach and have a little sun tan. You know, we offer a lot of things for people to do here,” said owner Joe Jenkins.
The beach offers kayaks, fishing boats and even a slide into the water. Jenkins said there are many things to do for the entire family, even the little ones.
“Swim and swim and swim,” said a boy with his family.
Whether you’re jumping into the lake or into the pool, there are many ways to keep cool this summer.
“This is a great facility, we have a zero entry for little kids to come on in and do the spray gardens. We also have two very wonderful slides, a fast slide and a curly slide,” said Debbie Gendreau, the Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation in Bangor.
You can go from the diving board to the driving range. Mini golf is a way to spend time with family with some friendly competition.
“What we have here is a place where families can come. There’s entertainment for the youngsters, there’s entertainment for the adults,” said Colin Gillies, owner of Traditions Golf Course. “If parents want to go out with their kids and play golf they can do that, if they don’t golf they can play mini golf.”
