BAR HARBOR - A seasonal employee from Jamaica is facing charges after an investigation by Bar Harbor police and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency investigators.

John Parkinson, 23, was arrested Thursday at his place of employment in Bar Harbor, authorities said.

Parkinson is charged with selling cocaine to MDEA agents on several occasions during a two-month criminal investigation.

Officials said the last sale took place within 1,000 feet of a city-designated drug-free safe zone.

Parkinson was taken to the Hancock County Jail in Ellsworth. His bail was set at $25,000 cash.
