ORRINGTON – Beans, bluegrass and bargains abound during the annual Old Home Week in Orrington.
The event kicked off Friday and runs through Sunday, July 21.
Old Home Week events include Open Farm Day, tours at Curran Homestead Village, a photography contest and exhibit, and a fire and rescue cookout and information session held at the proposed site of the new public safety building.
Dick Campbell, president of the Old Home Week Committee said there are several new additions to this year’s event.
“We start off with the Muddy Mainer Race, which is a lot of people running through the mud at Thornton Family Campground in south Orrington, which is Saturday. Then Sunday, right here at [Bob’s] Kozy Korner, we’re running duck down the Sedgeunkedunk, for the Sedgeunkeduck Regatta,” Campbell said.
The miles-long Endless Yard Sale runs from July 19 through July 21.
